Believing in What You Can’t See
There is a certain kind of courage required to believe in what you cannot see.
Not blind faith.
Not fantasy.
Not bypassing reality.
But the quiet, grounded kind of belief that says:
Just because I can’t see it yet… doesn’t mean it isn’t forming.
We do this more often than we realize.
We plant seeds in soil and trust roots are growing in the dark.
We fall in love and trust loyalty we cannot measure.
We make decisions based on instincts we can’t fully explain.
And yet when it comes to ourselves -
our growth,
our healing,
our becoming -
we suddenly demand visible proof.
“Show me the evidence.”
“Show me the guarantee.”
“Show me how this works out.”
But the most meaningful shifts in our lives rarely announce themselves.
The Invisible Work
The work that changes you happens quietly.
It happens when:
- You pause instead of reacting.
- You choose differently than you did before.
- You sit with discomfort instead of escaping it.
- You rest when old patterns tell you to hustle.
No one applauds that.
No one sees it.
There’s no certificate.
But something is changing.
Believing in what you can’t see means trusting that the internal shift matters — even when the external world hasn’t caught up yet.
The Child You Don’t See Growing
Think about watching a child grow.
You see them every day.
You don’t notice the millimeter shifts.
You don’t wake up thinking, Wow, they look dramatically different today.
But then you look at a photo from a year ago.
And you can’t believe it.
The face is fuller.
The body is stronger.
The expression is wiser.
The growth was happening every single day - but it was too gradual to detect in real time.
Your growth works the same way.
You may not see the daily expansion.
You may not feel dramatically different each morning.
But give it time.
Look back a year.
Look back even six months.
You are not who you were.
Growth Is Not Comfortable
Here’s the part we don’t talk about enough:
Growth is not comfortable.
Babies cry when they’re teething.
Bodies ache during growth spurts.
Muscles burn when they’re getting stronger.
Expansion stretches you.
It disrupts old patterns.
It challenges familiar identities.
It asks you to release versions of yourself that once felt safe.
Of course it feels uncertain sometimes.
Of course it feels awkward.
Of course it feels like something is shifting.
That’s because something is.
Discomfort does not mean you are failing.
Often it means you are evolving.
The Fog Principle
Think about driving in fog.
You can’t see the entire road.
You can barely see beyond your headlights.
But you can see far enough to take the next step.
Believing in what you can’t see doesn’t require certainty about the destination.
It only requires trust in the next small move.
The Truth About Becoming
Most people quit too soon - not because they aren’t capable, but because they mistake “I can’t see it yet” for “It’s not happening.”
Becoming is invisible before it is obvious.
Confidence is invisible before it is visible.
Strength is invisible before it is recognized.
Alignment is invisible before it becomes tangible.
Your next chapter is being built in ways you cannot fully measure.
And the most grounded thing you can do…
is continue showing up anyway.
If you are in a season where you can’t see the outcome,
where the evidence feels thin,
where the progress feels slow…
Stay steady.
Roots grow underground first.
Children grow in ways we don’t notice daily.
And you are growing in ways that will one day surprise you.
You are not behind.
You are not delusional.
You are in the process.
And the process is working - even when you can’t yet see it. 💛
